Memory Route World War ll V2 Fell in the Ridderstraat in Gilze

In the Municipality of Gilze and Rijen is a memory route created in memory of the Second World War.
In a number of places there is a sign with a description of what happened at that place in the Second World War.


V2 FELL IN THE RIDDERSTRAAT IN GILZE
V2 fell in the Ridderstraat in Gilze
On March 20, 1945, two V2 missiles (Vergeltungswaffe 2) struck in Gilze. The first at 8:30 am, close to the last house in the Ridderstraat of the Van Gils family. The second at 5.35 pm in the state forests, about two hundred meters from the Maastrichtse Baan and the Chaamseweg.
