The churchyard also contains a Belgian burial of the Second World War. It’s the grave of DE BRUYCKER Gustaaf Aloysius, died in captivity at Magdeburg (G) on 25 November 1940.
In addition, there is the grave of VAN DE PUTTE Albert, born in Melsen in 1915. He was a soldier in the 1st Artillery 4th Group 10th Battery. He was killed in Dikkelvenne on 20 May 1940, an illogical location for this unit. He may have strayed from his unit, which was stationed around Drongen at the time, and was killed in action.
There is also the grave of REYBROECK Alfons, civilian victim of the Second War. He was killed by acts of war on 21 August 1941 at Vertrijk, Leuven.
