Dutch War Grave Cemetery Godesakker Esbeek
On the Cemetery Godesakker in Esbeek is one Dutch War Grave of a resistance fighter. This is the grave of Jan Arend van Dongen. Jan was on September 7th present in the house of resistance fighter Petrus Antonius Leermakers in Biest-Houtakker when the house was surrounded by Germans. It was known that they were active in the resistance and the two men were immediately shot dead by German soldiers when they came out of the house.
Petrus Antonius Leermakers is buried in Biest-Houtakker.
