Landing Ground 106 (LG-106)

This former airfield (1942) consisted of three airstrips each measuring 1830 x 185 meters (2000 x 200 yards).

Timeline:
25 Jun 1942: used by RAF Wellington bombers.
Jul - Oct 1942: Used by Luftwaffe
5 Jul 1942: attacked 3 times during the day by SAAF/RAF P-40 Kittyhawks, German claim 1 Bf 109 F-4 (III./JG 27) destroyed on the ground. Allied claim 12 Bf 109s and Bf 110s destroyed.
2-5 Nov 1942: LG 106 retaken by British forces.
