In Memoriam: field grave Sgt. Ivor Ernest Charles Davies

Killed here on September 22, 1944:
-.Sgt. Ivor Ernest Charles Davies, 27 years old, born May 16, 1916. He served in the Monmouthshire Regiment. He is buried in the Mook IV War Cemetery. B5.

Immediately after the liberation there was a field grave in Scheerrijten. This grave belonged to Sgr. Ivor Ernest Charles
He belonged to the 3rd Battalion of the Monmouthshire Regiment, which was part of the 11th Armored Division.
This regiment landed on June 14, 1944 in Corselles, Normandy, France. After many efforts in France and Belgium, they arrive in the Netherlands. The regiment pursued Von Mahlzahn's Panzerbrigade 107, which was withdrawing from Nuenen, and tried to cut them off at Helmond via Geldrop and Mierlo.
Davies was killed in action on September 22, 1944 and buried in a field grave at this location.
On December 30, 1947, he was reburied by the 55th GCU, Grave Concentration Unit, in the cemetery in Mook.
