The cemetery of Eksaarde contains a collective grave of exiles from Keiem (West Flanders) who died at Eksaarde during the First World War.

There is also a war grave of Emiel DE BLOCK, soldier 32nd line 3rd bat. 11th comp., fell on the field of honor in Terdonk on May 23, 1940.
He was killed during attacks on positions on the Ghent-Terneuzen canal during German attempts to cross the canal.
