Monument in memory of Albert Schlageter who was executed by the French in 1923 during the Ruhr occupation.
Schlageter was a soldier in the First World War and a member of the Großdeutsche Arbeiterspartei. During the Ruhr occupation he was found guilty of multiple attacks and espionage.
The monument on the Jakobsberg (during the NS era the Arminiusberg) was built in the early 1930s in memory of the first National Socialist soldier.
