Memorials War Victims Arlon

On the facade of the Palais Provincial are 3 gray-colored plaques for the 2 World Wars. These were revealed on February 28, 2013.

The one plate with text in French and German is for 1914:
"In memory of the 786 citizens of the province of Luxembourg, victims of the German invasion in August 1914."

The other memorial stones are about 1945:
"1945 - The city of Arlon - in tribute to the political prisoners who were shot and the hostages who died in the Nazi extermination camps during or as a result of the 1940-1945 war"

"In memory of the hostages from Arlon who were deported to the Neuengamme concentration camp in July and August 25, 1944 and who died as martyrs, victims of Nazi barbarism",
followed by 26 names.
