Monument Birgelen
This monument commemorates the victims of the First and Second World Wars from Birgelen. It was created in 1959 and the third photo shows the monument shortly after its unveiling. The two flags were added to the monument in honour of ‘Volkstrauertag’ (National day of Mourning) in 2024. The anchor is the traditional symbol of the village of Birgelen.
