On the "Promenade des Chapelles" we come to a meadow where there used to be a military cemetery.
From January 1945 to June 1947 the soldiers who fell from the "Battle of Bure" were buried here. Belgians, British, New Zealanders and Germans were buried there.
The graves were made by the inhabitants of the village.
Of the 109, 81 were taken by English soldiers, the Germans lay together in a mass grave.
In June 1947 the English soldiers were taken to the Commonwealth cemetery in Hotton, the Germans to the German cemetery in Lommel.
