Monument to the fallen citizens of Oudewater

This Monument at the entrance to the Cemetery, commemorates the residents of Oudewater who perished during World War II, in Korea and in Indonesia. The monument consists of three granite slabs bearing the names of civilians, concentration camp victims, forced labourers and soldiers who perished.

The names of the fallen soldiers include those of three English airmen who crashed near Oudewater on 26 June 1943. They are buried elsewhere.

In the immediate vicinity of the monument is an obelisk bearing the names of seven other British airmen who also crashed near Oudewater and are buried in this cemetery.
