Memorial Hedd Wyn
Text on the plaque:
The Welsh poet Hedd Wyn was mortally wounded near this spot on 31 July 1917. He was posthumously awarded on 6 September 1917 with the major poetry trophy of Wales.
Hedd Wyn completed the winning poem "Yr Arwr (The Hero) in Flèchin (France) on 15 July 1917, on his way to the front. He is buried at Artillery Wood Cemetery, Boezinge.
