A page of history has been written here.

The G.I. from company I and H van
the 66th regiment, commanded by the
captains Henry H. CHATFIELD and James BURT,
helped by the Task-Force of
Lt. Colonel Clayton J. MANSFIELD

under the command of Major General Ernest N. HARMON,
Commander of the 2nd Armored division

succeeded during a heroic battle
to repel the enemy for good.

Many lost their lives there.

You who stop here, remember them.
You owe them your freedom. "
