At this place was a Belgian Surgical post during the First World War.
The 25 'name stones’ or 'Albertina Memorials' were placed from 1984 to 1988 at important sites for the Belgian army in World War I where no memorials were still present. The memorial contains, next to the specific text, the coloured coat of arms of the province of West Flanders and the monogram of King Albert I.
