"87th Infantry Division"
In snow, sleet and cold from late December 1944 to mid January 1945, the 87th Infantry Division was able to repel repeated attacks by the Germans in order to lift the siege of Bastogne. Thus they played an important role in the Battle of the Bulge.
"None of us will ever forget the grim courage with which you and your corps fought every meter of ground during the von Rundstedt attack"
