Commemorative Stone 87th Infantry Division

This memorial stone is located on the left side of the road, at the end of Bonnerue (N848) at N826.

"87th Infantry Division"

In snow, sleet and cold from late December 1944 to mid January 1945, the 87th Infantry Division was able to repel repeated attacks by the Germans in order to lift the siege of Bastogne. Thus they played an important role in the Battle of the Bulge.
