Indies Monument

The 'Indië monument' is a white stone column, crowned with a carved flame. At the top of the column, the emblems 'For justice and freedom' of the armed forces have been applied in relief. At the bottom of the column is the municipal coat of arms of Achtkarspel in relief.

The text on the column reads:
