Frontzate the cycle path over the railway bed from Nieuwpoort to Diksmuide was the Belgian line during the First World War due to the flooding of the Yzer plain.
Today we still see several remains of shelters, machine gun positions and medical posts along this line.
The slightly larger building along the reservoir of the Koolhofput was probably a kitchen.
In this block are 2 openings that led to chimneys, in those openings you can see round reinforcement irons.
Most of these buildings were made of brick.
