Commemorative plaque commemorating 38 Belgian requisitioned workers from Zele (20), Hamme (14) and Baasrode (4), of the 'work brigade Bousbecque', who were killed in dramatic circumstances on June 26, 1918 during an allied air raid on the logistics zone behind the German lines. The memorial plaque is located where the disaster took place.
It concerns a factory building, then the factory "Blancs de Comines", located in the far east of Comines, close to the border with Wervicq-Sud.
The memorial plaque was inaugurated on the spot 100 years after the dramatic events on 1 July 2018 by a partnership of the local circles of Zele and Hamme, with the support of both municipalities and with the support of the city of Comines (F).
