Crash Site P-47 Thunderbolt D-16-RE 42-75997

On 28 August 1944, during the Battle of Montélimar, Flight Officer Keith Russell Jennings in his P-47 Thunderbolt (12th Air Force; 79th Fighter Group; 87th Fighter Squadron) was shot down by a German Flak. The plane crashed into a hedge and exploded.
A memorial is located at the exact crash location.
