Commemorative Plate Liberators 1944 Harzé

Commemorative plaque in the entrance gate of the castle of Harzé, with the following text:
This castle was commandeered on October the 29th during the Battle of the Bulge, it housed the headquarters of Maj. Gen. Matthew B. RIDGWAY, Commander Officer of the 18th Airborne Corps.
On December the 24th December 1944, Field Marshal Sir Bernard L. MONTGOMERY visited RIDGWAY in this castle.
On December the 28th December 1944 Gen. Dwight D. EISENHOWER, Commander-in-chief of the European theatre of operations, met Maj. Gen. RIDGWAY here.
