Cycle Route Battle of the Ringbeek, Information Board Castle of Hertsberge

The West Flemish municipalities of Oostkamp and Wingene have joined forces and developed a permanent bicycle route. The Battle of the Ringbeek bicycle tour commemorates the efforts made by Belgian and French units to liberate Oostkamp, Wingene and the surrounding villages from the German occupier.

The cycle route passes places where the fighting of 17 and 18 October 1918 took place. There are 8 information boards on the cycle route showing the special events of those days.

The cycle route is divided into two loops: the Wingene - Zwevezele loop of 23 km and the Oostkamp loop of 28 km.
