This plaque hangs to the right of the entrance to the old barracks, now an African museum.

At the top "1er Lanciers" with the text in the 2 national languages French and Dutch below.

"The Regiment was garrisoned
in Namur for 43 years
It left this barracks
to march in the field
on August 1, 1914
106 lancers of all degrees
died on the field of honor "
