In the Saint-Aubain cathedral is a memorial to the seminarians who died during the war 1914-1918.
At the top an ornament with a cross and below it the crowned coat of arms of Belgium with "l’union fait la force" ("Unity makes power").
Underneath the plaque "In Memoriam"
with 26 and 7 names indicating their profession or religious function and the place where they exercise their function.
Followed by a Latin text, translated: "In memory of the seminarians who died as heroes during the war, after devoting themselves in the ranks of the army to the soldiers in the hospitals and on the battlefields. "
At the bottom of the pedestal is another Latin text, translated:
"Because he admired their outstanding bravery, Thomas-Louis Heylen, Bishop of Namur, erected this monument together with the clergy of the diocese.
May they rest in peace. "
