People's Militia Monument Zamoskvorechye

This monument is dedicated to fighters of people's militia. In July 1941, divisions of the People's militia were formed in each district of Moscow. On the territory of modern district of Zamoskvorechye were formed divisions of two districts - of Kirovsky and Moskvoretsky districts. When Germans came to outskirts of Moscow, people's militia managed to stop the enemy on the approaches of the capital. Many soldiers and division commanders of the People's Militia were killed or captured.

The monument was opened on April 24 in 2015. Its sculptor is Salavat Scherbakov.
