Underground Station Cableway, Lanslebourg-Mont-Cenis

Underground facility in the Vallo Alpino defence system: a underground station of the cable way.

This underground station was used to move the material from the valley bottom to the area of construction of the underground batteries ("La Court" and "Paradiso").
A 100 meters tunnel connects the external to the core of the cable way arrival. A side short tunnel links the cable way arrival to the engine room.
