War Memorial Chapel Schleiden

The former plague chapel from 1897 in Schleiden, on Kapellenweg just east of the Jewish cemetery, was restored in 1931 and converted into a memorial chapel for the Catholic parish of Schleiden. On the back wall is an altar table with a smaller stone base on which a crucifix is placed. A dedication on the top edge of a narrow base band. In the upper left arch, the names of the victims of the First World War are painted on the red background. In 1948 the chapel on the right was repainted with the names of the victims of the Second World War. Above the entrance in a vaulted niche the statue of St. Joseph with the baby Jesus. Fallen from Broich, Bronsfeld, Ettelscheid, Kerperscheid and Oberhausen are also mentioned.
