Spahis were light cavalry regiments of the French army recruited mainly from the indigenous people of Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco.
On May 11, the 2nd Rgt. Algerians close to Mirwart, Transinne and Daverdisse.
The 2nd rgt. Moroccan Spahis was in the Saint-Hubert and Maissin region.
Every year in Saint-Hubert, a memorial ceremony is held in tribute to the Spahis, warriors of 1940, who fought for our freedom on May 10 in the Wellin and Saint-Hubert region.
