The St. Blasius Chapel was originally a part (hall) of the Stauffische castle complex from 1142, it was badly damaged by an earthquake in 1356.
Around 1400 it was converted into a chapel in honor of St. Blasius. It was then decorated with murals. Wooden galleries were built in the 17th and early 20th century.
From then on, the chapel was used as a museum.
Currently it is a memorial to the fallen of the two world wars.
Large stone slabs hang around the chapel.
At the top of the text: "Let our sacrifice become seed for peace with all people and nations."
The plates contain 293 names of victims of the first world war and 490 names of victims of the second world war.
In addition, there are also a few smaller memorial plaques with texts.
