The Burma Campaign of World War II is often described as the "Forgotten War," and the soldiers who fought in it, "The Forgotten Army."
The Burma Campaign was a series of battles in the British colony of Burma. It was part of the South East Asian part of World War II with mostly troops from the Allies, the British Empire and the Republic of China, with support from the United States.
In 1941 troops from Japan, supported by the Thai Army and two independence movements, invaded Burma. After years of fighting, the colony returned to British hands in 1944.
