In 1986 the Peace Monument of Heppe de Moor was placed in Osdorp. An image in the water of the Hoekenesgracht as "The reflection of a society without war". The Peace Sign belonged to the monument. That was opposite the monument. For more than 20 years, the commemorations on 4 May were organized at that location. In 2008, the Peace Sign and the commemoration were moved to the quay on the Sloterplas opposite the Osdorpplein shopping center. The Peace Monument is still in the water of the Hoekenesgracht.
