War Memorial Godsheide

Located in the churchyard of the Our Lady of the Visitation church Godsheide next to the southern wall of the church. The memorial was unveiled on Sunday the 22nd April 2001 thanks to the efforts of local man Lucien Schrijvers .

The war memorial commemorates the military and the civilian victims of the First and the Second World War.
The memorial honours 33 of its own ,including 11 civilian casualties .Of the 22 others remembered on the memorial ,12 fell in the First World War,2 died as Great War POWs and 1 as a deportee in that war. While the Second World War took 3 under arms , 2 prisoners of war and 2 political deportees.
