Memorial 3rd Armored Division Amonines

Monument in memory of the 3rd Armored Division.

The American 3rd Armored Division was also stationed here and they fought on their route towards the liberation of Hotton during the Ardennes offensive.
In this sector (between Amonines and Beffe) Task Force Hogan, the 3rd Battalion, part of the 3rd Armored Division was in fierce battle.

It was here that two American soldiers (Private First Class Willie Elam from Texas and Sergeant Elmer Scherrer from Colorado) were killed in their jeep during the Battle of the Bulge on December 28, 1944.
