Monument The Searchlight Hengelo

Monument Het Zoelicht Hengelo.

The Stellingweg got its name after the Second World War because the German occupier had placed anti-aircraft (FLAK; Flieger Abwehr Kanone) and searchlights here in the newly planted estate on a wall body. In 1944, a concrete substructure was made for a launch site for V1 rockets in the direction of Antwerp. The pavement of the Stellingweg was broken rubble during the Second World War. The placed monument on this corner represents a searchlight.
