On September 5, 2018, a new Jewish monument was unveiled in memory of the Jewish residents who were murdered in World War II. This monument is located at the rear of the former synagogue.
Of the approximately sixty Jewish inhabitants who lived in Culemborg before the German invasion, no more than ten returned after the liberation.
The text on the memorial reads:
past - present - future
people hate
if they
do not understand
