On September 14, 1942, a Pathfinder, part of 156 Squadron Royal Air Force, crashed into a field next to Roskampweg in Loozen. The Vickers Wellington Mk III BJ600 was attacked and shot down by Major Karl Theodor Hülshoff. The plane crashed at 3.13 am. The crew were on their way back to England after taking part in a bombing raid on the city of Bremen and were shot down by a German plane. The six occupants were killed. After some time, the remains were buried in the cemetery in Gramsbergen.
On September 14, 2000, a monument was unveiled on Roskampweg in memory of this crew.
