Fort Portalet

This 19th century old fort served as depot and barracks for the 18th Regiment of Infantry from 1871 to 1925.

It was used by the Vichy regime to intern Léon Blum, Édouard Daladier, Paul Reynaud, Georges Mandel and Maurice Gamelin.

Philippe Pétain was interned here from 15 August to 16 November 1945.
