In the southwestern corner of the transept of the Church of Our Lady is an altar dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows.
Above it is a large 4-part stained-glass window from 1926, commemorating the soldiers of the parish who died during the Great War of 1914-1918.
It depicts, among other things, the royal family and Cardinal Mercier worshiping the Mater Dolorosa.
Below the figures is the text:
" Lydend and / immaculate / heart of / Maria bid
for us / who take our / refuge / to you"
At the bottom, between the cardinal's coat of arms and that of the king, is an angel bending over a wounded soldier.
