The missile emplacement, north of Nienborg-Heek station, was set up in September 1944. When Allied forces approached in late March 1945, it was abandoned. The last V2 was fired at Antwerp on 28 March 1945.
Construction site workers uncovered the concrete floor slab of the rocket emplacement and placed a boulder as a base for the memorial plaque.
The floor slab consists of several concrete segments. The stainless steel plate contains information and indicates the terrible past.
