Commemorative Plate Brothers Ortmans

The Ortmans family lived in the nearby Castle of Fallais until 1936. During the Second World War two Ortmans brothers, Christian and Victor, enlisted in the RAF.

ORTMANS Christian, Flying Officer RAF-VR 615 Squadron, was killed in action on 1 April 1943 in Burma (Asia) during an air battle with the Japanese.
ORTMANS Victor survived the war but was killed on 5 August 1950 in an accident above Schaffen airfield
