V1 Memorial Harfsen

Here you can see the concrete base plate of the Richthaus of a V1 weapon. On the concrete slab stood a wooden shed where the V1s were mounted, checked and the compass was set. The Richthaus also had a launching platform (Abschussrampe). This was never completed here because of the end of the war. The V1's were used to attack Antwerp.

The artwork, designed by Anneke Hogenhout, represents the silhouette of the V-I in Harfsen and Antwerp, with in between the ravages caused by the V-Is, not only in Antwerp but also in this region.
