" The city of Namur
To the civilian heroes
executed for the fatherland"

SIMON Charles : executed in 1915
MASSART Clement : lived in Floreffe. He was a military intelligence officer for the Namur-Luxembourg department. The Massart network was founded in September 1915 and counted about twenty agents. He was sent to occupied territory as a technical clerk and established several railway observation posts around Namur. He died in Hasselt on November 4, 1916.
COSSE Auguste : he was chief guard at the railway in Namur. He was executed in Hasselt on December 16, 1916.
On the foot of the tombstone hangs a bronze wreath for him:
"The personnel of the Railways region of Namur
For the chief guard Cosse Auguste
Died for the Fatherland"
