n this spot is a monument in memory of the POW camp A5. This camp was set up in the immediate vicinity at the end of April 1945 because the camp in Remagen was full. 118,000 prisoners were interned here by the Americans. In July 1945 the camp was handed over to France. At that time there were still 25,000 captured. 1090 prisoners died during their internment and are buried in the German War Cemetery Bad Bodendorf.
