Grave H. Gritter

On the '' Monument Victims Motorship Joanna " present at the General Cemetery Delfzijl is also the name of H. Gritter 29-01-1920 9-05-1945 as an unknown victim.
In 1945 a body washed ashore on the dike near Uithuizermeeden and assumed to be Henk Gritter and buried in the cemetery
(see photo 5).
DNA of his only living brother matches the body that washed up on the dike 75 years ago.
The War Graves Foundation has now furnished Henk Gritter's grave as a formal grave.
