War Memorial Gleesen

In the hamlet of Gleesen, municipality of Emsburen, beautifully situated between the river Eemst and the Dortumund-Ems Canal, on the edge of the hamlet is a monument in memory of the fallen and missing inhabitants of this place. The monument consists of a statue of the crucified Jesus, on the bottom the following inscription;
"What seems lost in death shall be born new in Christ."

On both sides of the statue a stone with the names of the fallen and missing during both World Wars.
