War Memorial Wietmarschen

In the center of Wietmarschen, along the main road, there is a beautifully maintained monument in the form of a small chapel, in which a statue of Mary with Jesus dead in her lap placed on a Bentheimer sandstone pedestal, the "Pietà of Michelangelo"

The statue is flanked by 2 plaques with the names of the fallen and missing from the two world wars in chronological order.
