Memorial Stone Jules De Winde Westrozebeke

The plaque on the facade of the old town hall commemorates Lieutenant DE WINDE Jules. Jules De Winde was a Flemish poet who was killed in action on 28 September 1918, in the attack for the liberation of Westrozebeke.
Almost 20 years later, in 1937, De Winde became an Yser symbol of the Flemish Movement and was reburied in the crypt of the Yser Tower.
