Monument Pluto Port-En-Bessin

The pipeline laid from Great Britain came ashore in Port-en-Bessin. This pipeline was built in 1944, soon after the capture of the beachhead in Normandy, to ensure the supply of fuel for the Allied advance. The pipeline was eventually extended to the Netherlands. A remnant of this pipeline can still be seen in Beek en Donk in the Netherlands.
