This memorial with propeller blade is located in the Joep ter Haar park in Lichtenvoorde.
During the Second World War, the airspace of the Achterhoek was an important flight path for many tens of thousands of Allied aircraft. More than 400 aircraft have crashed in the Achterhoek. Resistance fighters in and around Lichtenvoorde played an important role in offering crew members of crashed aircraft a safe haven. Lichtenvoorde was therefore also called 'Little England'.
The memorial consists of a plaque and a propeller blade from a 4-engined American B24 bomber that crashed in 1944 in the Achterhoek
