The churchyard in Chercq contains a grave with a plaque in memory of two German soldiers of the First World War.
The date of death is striking, namely 8 and 9 November 1918, this is the same date as 6 British soldiers who were also buried here.
It is not clear whether the bodies of the German soldiers are still here, as the Germans were reburied in various German military cemeteries.
